I am a lover of all things unique. I'm the girl who didn't want a traditional diamond wedding ring--I wanted something one of a kind, with a stone that looked like the ocean (which, by the way, I'm still looking for, fifteen years later). Whenever I see someone with unusual jewelry on, whether it be earrings, bracelets or a necklace, my eyes are instantly feasting on it.
You can tell a lot about a person by their jewelry choices. Yes, I love $4.80 earrings from F21 as much as the next person on a budget, but little by little, I'm building my humble collection of one of a kind pieces.
Have you ever heard of Alter Ego by Erika Walton? They are an L.A based company, creating eco-friendly jewelry using vintage and collectible toys from the 60's to the 90's. The pieces are bright, colorful, whimsical and sought after. After browsing through the collection, my eyes were immediately drawn to their beautiful mermaid collection.
I mean, who doesn't love them some mermaid style?
Another really cool thing about Erika's jewelry is that they make their jewelry in L.A, and they employ Angelenos, too. And, for every earring and bracelet sold, a dollar is donated to a wild life fund.

My fave toy? Hands down, Barbie dolls!
